Building a modern custom home can be a daunting task, but that’s why our team at On Point Custom Homes is here to provide our clients with the insight and knowledge they need to build their dream home.
Our Director of Purchasing, Scott Moore, recommends that homeowners should research all of the products that can be connected to their in-home WiFi during the designing process. Technology is an extremely important and, often standard, addition to any home. When our homeowners sit down with our design team, we want to make sure that they have thought of and included every possible opportunity to automate their home through a control system or different integrator, such as Amazon Echo and Echo Dot, Nest, Control4 and many more. Whether a homeowner wants complete home automation to control their lights, sprinkler system, garage door, security locks and A/C units, or only cares about a few select luxurious automations, such as playing music throughout the house or lighting the fireplace with the touch of a finger, our design-build team can make it happen.
Our Senior Project Manager, Brian Filson, advises homeowners to remember that regular maintenance is a necessity. Many times, people forget that their home requires maintenance throughout the year, just as a car requires regular checkups and oil changes. You live in your house every day, so it’s important to make sure you’re taking the proper steps to keep it in tip-top shape! On average, homeowners should replace their air filters every 60-90 days. Other essential home maintenance tasks include caulking around windows or any gaps and holes on the outside of the house to prevent rot, re-grouting tile floors and cleaning out gutters to ensure they properly drain.
