53,073 Square Feet in 2024

Envisioning 53,073 Square Feet:
On Point Custom Homes’ 2024 Milestone

At On Point Custom Homes, we don’t just build houses—we materialize our homebuyers’ visions. In 2024, we proudly built an incredible 53,073 square feet of custom homes, each one tailored to reflect the unique personalities and lifestyles of our clients. That’s more than just a number; it’s a testament to our commitment to quality, creativity, and the vibrant spirit of Houston. As we begin 2025, we decided to take a whimsical look at what could fit in 53,073 square feet of space.

Crawfish Boils: Designed for Gathering

With 53,073 square feet of custom homes built last year, we’ve created countless spaces perfect for hosting one of Houston’s favorite traditions: the crawfish boil. Imagine an outdoor kitchen and entertainment center designed just for you, where friends and family gather to enjoy a mudbug boil. 53,073 sq. feet is enough space to store over 3,821,256 boiled crawfish (yes, we did the math!).

Assumption: Let’s assume a single, cooked crawfish takes up about 6 square inches (roughly 2″ x 3″). We’ll also assume they are piled in serving trays, and we can stack those trays 3 high (to allow for easy access).

Calculation:

  • Square inches in the space: 53,073 sq ft * 144 sq in/sq ft = 7,642,512 sq inches
  • Crawfish per square foot (one layer): 144 sq in / 6 sq in/crawfish = 24 crawfish
  • Total crawfish (one layer): 7,642,512 sq in / 6 sq in/crawfish = 1,273,752 crawfish
  • Stacked crawfish (3 layers): 1,273,752 crawfish * 3 = 3,821,256 crawfish

Whether it’s a sleek outdoor kitchen, pickleball court, or a cozy patio, we make sure your home is ready for unforgettable moments.

Cowboy Boots: A Step Above the Rest

When it comes to luxury and Texan heritage, nothing says “Texas proud” like a pair of hand-crafted cowboy boots from legendary bootmakers like Lucchese or M.L. Leddy’s. These boots are more than just footwear—they’re a symbol of craftsmanship, tradition, and style.

Assumption: Let’s assume a pair of boots, in a box, takes up about 1.5 square feet of floor space (roughly 18″ x 12″). We’ll also assume we can stack the boxes 5 high (a reasonable height for storage and access).

Calculation:

  • Boots per square foot (floor only): 1 / 1.5 sq ft = 0.67 pairs
  • Total boots (floor only): 53,073 sq ft * 0.67 pairs/sq ft = 35,559 pairs
  • Stacked boots (5 high): 35,559 pairs * 5 = 177,795 pairs

Now, imagine the scale of luxury that 53,073 square feet could hold. With enough space to store 177,795 pairs of these high-end boots (stacked five high). That’s enough to give every attendee of the sold-out 2024 Jonas Brothers Houston Rodeo performance 2.35 pairs! Whether you’re designing a custom walk-in closet to showcase your own boot collection or creating a boutique space for your other footwear, On Point Custom Homes can help you step into luxury with style.

Art Cars and Bold Designs

Houston’s Art Car Parade is all about creativity, and so are we. In 2024, we built homes that are as unique as the 295 art cars you could fit into 53,073 square feet.

Assumption: Let’s assume an average art car needs a parking space of about 180 square feet (roughly 9 ft wide x 20 ft long), to provide a buffer zone around each car for viewing.

Calculation:

  • Number of art cars: 53,073 sq ft / 180 sq ft/car = 295 art cars

From bold architectural designs to personalized interiors, On Point Custom Homes ensures your space reflects your individuality. Let’s make your home as iconic as Houston’s art scene.

Pecan Pies and Sweet Memories

With the holidays just having passed us, it may not be a surprise to have some leftover pie stored somewhere in your home. 53,073 square feet could store 212,292 pecan pies.

Assumption: A standard 9-inch pecan pie in a box takes up about 1 square foot of space. Let’s assume we can stack them 4 boxes high (to prevent crushing).

Calculation:

  • Pies per square foot (floor only): 1 pie/sq ft
  • Total pies (floor only): 53,073 sq ft * 1 pie/sq ft = 53,073 pies
  • Stacked pies (4 high): 53,073 pies * 4 = 212,292 pies

Whether you’re catering a charity fundraiser at your home, or making your own pecan pies, our custom kitchens are designed to be the heart of your home. With On Point Custom Homes, every detail is crafted to make your life sweeter.
