Position: Architectural Designer
Location: Houston, TX
Key Responsibilities
We are looking for an individual with a Bachelor’s of Architecture who is interested in residential construction and custom home building. This specific degree is preferred; however please note that favor may be given to those with a higher degree or level of accreditation. At least one year of formal work experience is preferred, and more than that is favored. This individual must be:
- Proficiency in Revit and CAD, and comfortable with a BIM environment and architectural documentation
- Working knowledge of Enscape 3D rendering software
- Understanding of wood-frame construction and be familiar with residential building codes
- Ability to incorporate applicable building codes and standards into projects
- Experience with City of Houston and surrounding municipalities permitting process
- Able to work in 2D and 3D through sketching and modeling
- Generating architectural renderings (interior + exterior) and construction drawings
- Ability to convert schematic designs into construction documents for a variety of style and size homes
- Design Custom + Spec Homes for On Point Custom Homes from initial concepts to construction documents
- Prepare contract documents, including details, sections, elevations, and schedules as well as perform redline revisions
- Perform tasks according to On Point Custom Homes delivery standards
- Comfortable with one on one client interaction
- Management experience with other architects or interns is preferred, but not required
- Must have strong graphic skills with attention to detail, working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite preferred (Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to effectively work with internal and external collaborators
- Strong organization skills with the ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects
- Creative problem solving
- Ability to meet and exceed deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Capable of jumping between tasks, ensuring all items are finished in an effective and efficient manner
